David started his union career as a young man in 1968 with the Labors Union in Bakersfield. The project at that time was the Feather River California Aqueduct. Dave then transfered to San Bernardino, working on various flood control projects. After a serving in the Military and being honorably discharged, he returned to California and worked at various locations until he obtained a job with the Pipe Fitters Union as an apprentice Electrician. Four years later he obtained his journeyman status as an Electrician. He became a member of the IBEW working at various construction jobs covering much of the South Western part of the United States. During his IBEW career he participated in the successful organizing of several Companies. In 1999 he obtained employment under a Teamsters contract with ITT Industries at Vandenberg AFB. During his employment he became the Chief Steward, and later, a member of the Teamsters Local 381 Executive Board. In 2001 he became a Trustee for the Local as well. Dave served in that position until he was elected to Vice-president. Dave's background and experience make him well qualified to effectively represent his members in the following service areas:
